Mini Rant: Dragon Tomb Parties from a Cleric's Perspective

Lycheebomb: Roar! D:<
Description: This is the Mini Rant part of my blog. I share experiences that I do not like or things I am irritated about. We all have something in-game that we do not like and this is to express my feelings/ thoughts/ opinions/ etc.
-------

In all the DT (Dragon Tomb) parties I have been in, about 80% of them have been great parties while 20% of them are failishly faaaail. For the past weeks, I have been in DT on my cleric Peachbomb every single day. I really enjoy doing this dungeon with others and compared to how it was back then on Cherrybomb without DT parties, I have a better experience on Peach. There's always someone to party my cleric and it feels great to be in parties. As I reached level 88, I begin to realise all the negative things in DT parties. The one thing that irritated me most was when I was in a party with four mages and it seemed like a godly party. However, I would rather party with four archers than that mage party. Yes, it was that bad. I have been thinking about DT for the past few days now and my days in DT will soon come to an end once I reach level 91 (which is VERY soon). I wanted to share what I feel is very irritating in DT parties.

Greedy People

I'm sure everyone has that feeling of rushing to pick up their quest drop before it starts to shine to everyone else. In many of my DT parties, I always rush to pick up my quest drop once the second boss is killed off. I guess I don't trust many people that I party and sometimes I do not get my drop for hours and hours. It's from experience and I know a lot of people who share this experience. In Bijou, we do "doubling" which involves luring one of the bosses to the other boss which drops the same quest drops. After one boss dies, we DO NOT pick up the drop until the second boss dies. However, there are times when people do not understand the concept of doubling. Once you reach around level 86, you will begin to feel irritated with those that don't understand how DT parties should be. Then, there are people who do not care about others in the party and just take their drop or just leave once they get their drop. These type of people irritate me a lot in DT parties and I will make sure that I accidentally lag a bit and the purple dragon kills them or something.

Four Mages, One Cleric

From a cleric's point of view, this is just chaotic. Everyone expects me to heal everyone and I know I can do this, but it's just too much. I really do hope that mages go visit Fatal's blog and learn the fricken ways of being a good mage in DT! (Refer to: Ask Fatal: Dragon's Tomb Edition (Damage Dealing - Mage).) I just can't stand mages that think they can tank when they cannot. I have been with mages who can tank Cornelius, but they are more cautious usually. In Bijou, it seems that the mages are very reckless when I'm in a party. I don't know why! Why? I believe clerics are there to support of course, but there are potions and HP stones in-game for a reason. Clerics are there to heal, but not to be your month supply of potions. I am here to help and not to do all the healing as there are other sources to heal your HP. Expect to die as a mage if you are empty on potions or you don't use HP stones.

Tankers/Subtanks/Tank Wannabes

So this concerns the tankers of DT parties. Particularly, when the DT party has reached Cornelius. I just cannot stand when there are three people by the purple dragon. Sometimes, mages like to stand near Cornelius as if he/she doesn't AoE. It is frustrating curing all those deadly stinky breath DoTs or whatever it is called. Especially when the main tanker does not have that good of a defence. There have been many cases where the main tanker has had their HP in the two digits and I'm freaking out. So many close calls...

Luring the Titan

This mini boss dude hits very hard. When we are in the middle of doubling and we are clearing the mobs around the mini boss, some people accidently lure the titan A LOT. This cannot be helped, but it is very frustrating. I have died there many times because of others. Stop luring that nub titan, please.

Rushing

I can be an impatient person at times and when everyone else is turning in their quest, I am always clearing the path once I arrive to DT. I don't like wasting time. However, there is a difference between being efficient and rushing. People who rush tend to make the whole party die and are inconsiderate of others. I was in this one DT party with four mages and the main mank was luring a whole lot of mobs and running very fast as if he was trying to avoid me.

Well, that sums most of the things that irritate me a lot in DT parties. I came up with a few suggestions that others can do to make DT parties flow better and to have a better experience there.

The Three Be's in DT Parties

Be courteous. Which means to show respect and to consider everyone in the party. Do not be greedy and let others have your drop if you know they have been in a few runs without turning in the quest. When someone does this for me, I usually try to stay longer and never let that kind person die at all. Also, know the limitations of the party. Not everyone will have a Blessing of Teva.

Be careful. Be aware of who is in your party and also where everyone is. Do not rush. Being careful will lower the amount of times that you will die. Be aware of the cleric being stunned or feared. Do not take too many mobs and use your own resources. Do not expect the cleric to heal you all the time. Try to avoid luring the titan and also keeping your distance between you and Cornelius.

Be positive. Being negative or blaming the cleric for everything will do nothing for the party. Know that dying is an essential part in DT parties. Try to be supportive of others and be calm.

Thanks for reading and I'm excited for LN! Good luck to those that join DT parties!

Mini Rant: Stalker PKers

Good afternoon :]

These past months, I have been spending a lot of time leveling my nubs in abyss. I like soloing there on my nubs and it has been one of the best leveling places for my archer Cherrybomb. When I never had a party at Trumpy Remains, I would kite in 70 abyss and level like crazy. Now, there are of course bad things to abyss and I'm sure everyone knows who they are...PKers (player killers).

For three to four years, I had to face them in abyss all the time. At times, I was lucky enough to sneak past them at the entrance and at other times...I...was...not...so...lucky. I do not have much of a problem with PKers now...as I'm used to it and I have had my share of experiences with PKing others. Although, the worst possible PKers now are Stalker PKers. These are the worst type of stalkers in Fiesta besides a ranger stalker. A less annoying type of stalker is a lover...lol.

As I enter any abyss, the first thing I do is run as fast as I can hoping they do not notice me. As I'm running as fast as my character can, I notice a small little dot right behind me. I run past my desired spot hoping that the mysterious dot would disappear. The dot becomes bigger and bigger...and as I stop...out comes a fighter with every known SC items available in the store...with +9s shining all over. I attack in fear and my skill seems to have missed, but the stalking PKer has a lot of defence. I keep running for my life and for some reason the stalker PKer catches up to me (it seems PKers run faster...not sure why lol)...stuns me...and I die a crit death.

Stalker PKers follow you for hours and hours deep in the abyss...and its frustrating at times. I think the best thing to do in these type of situations is to show nothing...no talk, no emotion...keep on running...until they are bored with you. Also, keep a stack of speed scrolls on you...usually stalker PKers do not have speed scrolls. If you attack...I believe it only irritates them even more...so do not attack them at all...although I definitely would. Most of the times, I would like to go on another character and kill the stalking PKer, most of the times I do not.

I prefer not to waste my time on stalker PKers. It's a waste of time and money and you are only rewarding the PKer with fun. The best thing to do is to stay out of abyss for awhile and do something else until they are gone. It usually works 99% of the time. Stalker PKers are irritating at best... Although, on certain days, when I'm stressed out from school or my family is being mean to me...I may just have some fun with stalker PKers...haha. Sometimes, PKers do help me in relieving stress and there was one time when one was following me and I enjoyed it. It all depends on how I am feeling at the moment...it could be fun or very disastrous.

Thanks for reading! Have a good day~!
