Saturday Update: My Silver (LCD) Screen MVP Entry and How I Chose My Entry

Cherrybomb: The slimes are coming! The slimes are coming! Everyone in Roumen run for your lives!
Description: This is my Saturday Update. A Saturday Update summarizes what has been going on for the past week in Fiesta. It's an entry of my goals for next week, what goals I have accomplished, some pictures, my experiences, and what I have been doing or what I haven't been doing. It gives me some time to reflect on what has been happening in Fiesta. It may be short or long depending on how busy I am.
-------

Good afternoon!

I am in the process of editing my MVP entry as I write this and so far so good! The deadline is in three days or so, and I'm glad I had the time to work on an entry and finish it. (For those interested in my entry, it's at the bottom of this post. Enjoy!) The making of my entry took me about 20 hours or so total spread out to three days which gave me a large headache for three days. Although, I couldn't resist the fun of making my entry and sharing it to the OutSpark community. In the process of making my entry, I first thought of doing Titanic in where Jack and Rose are "flying". Here's the scene I wanted to portray...

Although, it was too epic for me to copy and I couldn't find anyone to do this with me. Also, I can't seem to find any place to resemble the place that this scene takes place in at all or make actions that resemble their actions. After some thought, I wanted to do Jurassic Park! Rawr!

This movie is probably one of my favorite movies from the past. Although, the problem with trying to re-create most scenes from Jurassic Park is finding out how to get dinosaurs in my scenes. In the video above, I wanted to re-create this scene of running dinosaurs. An idea of mines to try and copy this scene was to try and gather a whole bunch of phouches or any monster and record them as dinosaurs as they run back. I also thought of going to Burning Rock because there are dead dinosaurs there and try to re-create a scene in the beginning of the movie which is around 0:14 in this YouTube clip below:

Choosing a movie for my entry was a bit difficult. For a few days, I kept thinking of the "right" movie to choose. I looked at all the other entries and most were for adults. I kept on searching on YouTube for ideas and I kept checking back on the MVP thread for ideas. I skimmed a few posts and this post gave me some sort of inspiration if I can describe my feeling best. I decided I wanted to do my entry based on an animated movie!

I was not sure what I wanted to choose for my entry though. I thought of choosing a Japanese animated movie of some sort. Japan produces a lot of quality animated movies compared to the rest of the world. I also thought of doing some Korean drama based entry just for fun. At the moment, I am hit by the Korean Wave so I like anything to do with Korea. (If anyone is interested in Korean culture, then please visit Ask a Korean's blog who provides a lot of insight about Korea.) Here's a Bobby Lee spoof of Korean dramas lolz:

However, my main concern was if the OutSpark community would be familiar with a Japanese animated movie (I also don't know of many) or even a Korean drama at that. Although, I was determined to pick an animated movie for my entry. It had to be an animated entry!

After much research on YouTube, I stumbled onto some Disney movies. At that point of time, I knew I was going to make my entry based on old animated Disney movies. After laughing and crying at my childhood memories, I finally chose my movie. My entry was to be based on Mulan.

Why Mulan? It was one of my favorite Disney movies of course and one of the songs in the movie was very memorable. I also identified more with Mulan than any other old animated Disney movie. Also, the scene that I was basing my entry on was easy to find similar places around Isya. The moment I saw the scene that I was going to work on, I knew of all the places that were actually very similar as if Isya was based on Mulan.

I then started working on my entry after finding the "right" movie. I wanted it to be simple and short and to show places in Isya as very beautiful since the art in Mulan is very beautiful and created well. I wanted to create a similar atmosphere. I had to slow down a few scenes as the scene I chose was very slow and not as fast as the other entries. The scene I chose to replicate starts at 0:55 in the clip below:

Here's the Mandarin version of Reflection. This gives me a chance to review for my Chinese class. Hehe... I personally think that the Chinese version suits Mulan more when she sings Reflection since Mulan is based off of China. Although, Lea Salonga's version is better in my opinion considering that she is a great singer...

I had a bit of trouble trying to imitate the first part of the video so I was limited on the second half of the video. I couldn't find people to play the parents of Mulan and also the cricket and the horse. As for choosing the role of Mulan, it was a difficult process. Lots of pretty faces, but none of them were fit for the role. Out of many contestants, I chose Jujubebomb from the server Cypion. (Sorry Bijou!) Just a little background information about Jujubebomb's name, Jujube fruits can be found from Asia or South Asia and around China. So Mulan and Jujube had a connection in the place they are from. Plus, Jujubebomb had characteristics similar to Mulan. I couldn't imagine using Cherrybomb (red-headed tiny ranger on the background of my blog) to play Mulan.

Another reason why I chose Jujubebomb was that the scene of Mulan singing Reflection (the real singer behind Mulan singing is Lea Salonga, one of my favorite singers from the Philippines aside from Charice... Filipinos are very good singers) took place after she met with her matchmaker. As in, she met with some fat lady to meet her future husband. Scene:

So the reason Mulan is disappointed in the Reflection video is because she failed and let her family down as you can see in the video above. This is just some background information about the scene I chose. Jujubebomb's costume fits very well with the situation that Mulan had experienced just recently with the matchmaker. Her costume is the red wedding costume and so Jujubebomb was probably the best choice I had to play as Mulan. I didn't want to pay money to get a character to look similar to Mulan as I already had Jujubebomb!

Anyway, it's almost Halloween! Anyone thinking of going trick-or-treating as Mulan? I will provide a great video below this paragraph. Also, has anyone ever wondered why Mulan is wearing white make-up? Well, just for some cultural awareness, white skin was seen as beautiful back then. Today, white skin is still a beauty standard around Asia. In Korea, China, Philippines, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, and many more countries in Asia, people there adore white skin. You can see this in their entertainment industry especially the ones appealing to teens. Although, it's different here in America and Europe where a lot of people love to tan. Interesting, right? In my opinion, I agree with Michelle Phan (the person in the video below showing how to do Mulan's bride look) that all skin colors are beautiful. Video on how to do Mulan's bride look:

Although, I am a bit worried if the judges would even consider my entry as it is a Disney kids movie and it wasn't action-packed or happy. I don't know if my entry would appeal to the judges at all. Anyway, it's the least I should worry about as there are about five entries last I checked. I wonder if there will even be 10 people to participate at least. My entry is different and I had a lot of fun going back to my childhood memories. I even watched a Disney movie again.

Lastly, sorry to disappoint, but I have absolutely no pictures taken over the week to share, meaning I didn't play at all. This week is Mid-Terms week and next week is also Mid-Terms. The only thing Fiesta-related that I did this week was the making of my video. Hopefully, you guys will enjoy the work I've been doing over the week. My MVP video entry:

Here's the Mandarin version of my MVP entry. The singer of the Mandarin version is Coco Lee. I think she did a good job on the song and it fits my entry very well.

Thanks for reading or watching. See you all next week and hopefully I'm not dead by all the studying next week!

Random: Humans, Elves, and The Abused Slimes

Papayabomb: Omg, run horsey! Run like the wind!
Description: This is the Random part of my blog. This features creative posts, and well...random stuff.
-------

The most abused monster on Isya is the wide-eyed purple slime.
The slime is the epitome of a nub.
The slime's habitat is in green forests. The green and purple combination of colors displays a similar appearance of a children's hero, Barney. The life expectancy of a slime is 10 seconds. In rare cases, 10 minutes. 1000s of slimes are killed each day by newborn Isyans in their quest to become stronger. However, in more cruel cases, some bored Isyans use their most powerful skill to test their damage on these innocent-looking monsters. This is the reality on all servers and possibly throughout the world. It is said that slimes used to be cruel Isyans in the past and as a punishment by Isya they were born as slimes.

Slimes only attack when provoked and are an easy target for all classes. In extreme nub moment cases, one Isyan dies for every 1,000,000 slimes. The probability of dying is 0.0000001%. In cases where an Isyan dies by a slime, the person is advised to not log on for a month because of embarrassment and bullying. In a country far away, some Isyans have established a law to ban people who are reported to have been killed by a slime. Unfortunately, reporting Isyans is difficult as the slimes (who can be used for evidence) who have killed an Isyan are usually KSed quickly by a nub and the evidence disappears. Sometimes, the reporters are accused of seeking attention or holding a grudge. While the chance of dying from a slime is rare, it does happen. The best advice is to keep this information stuck in the past.
Size comparison against a below average elf.
In Isya's horrible history, slimes have been killed in order to achieve level 79 during the level 79 cap. The act of capping on slimes seems to be popular among many Isyans. Isyans speculate the reason why this happens is because we all started training on slimes and so they end it (capping) on slimes. Videos of capping on slimes:

Capping on slimes still happens today on all servers.

A long time ago, there was a group called the Slime Busters. The organization was responsible for controlling the slime population. Any Isyan could join, both good and evil, to kill these pests. The Slime Busters went on missions to kill as many slimes as they could. The missions were called Slime Busters Unite! Example of a Slime Busters Unite! mission:

In one extreme case never to be forgotten, one of the members killed the slimes inhumanely. He killed the slimes by beheading the slimes. He gathered enough members to practise unusual and evil rituals. The reason for his actions are unknown, but it was reported that his girlfriend died by a slime. Some argue that his girlfriend was powerleveled and deserved to die. The group was banned from the Slime Buster's organization, but they later on created the Slime Head organization.
Picture of a real authentic Slime Head member. Slime Head members wore slime masks that were made by beheading real slimes. Slime masks were used in ancient rituals. Many fake slime masks can be seen today and are sold as souvenirs.
The Slime Head organization believes that slimes are "not worthy". Many slimes were tortured and used as a sacrifice. One example of a sacrificed slime lives in Moonlight Tomb. The Slime Head organization was cited for cruel and inhumane acts and the members were sentenced to Collapsed Prizon's top security. Both of the organizations were closed down. However, the Slime Busters Unite! missions still remain today. Recently, the name was changed to King Slime's Counterattack.

Despite the atrocious actions that humans and elves have inflicted onto the slime community, many others have made an effort to have close relations. Humans, elves, and slimes understand the problems that have happened in the past and want a better future. Many groups have been formed to protect slime rights and slimes have agreed to not attack Isyans unless attacked. However, problems still exists between the three groups in today's society.
A poster created to stop slime abuse.
The poster above states,"We must be the change we wish to see." If Isyans do not want to see abuse happening today then Isyans must do something about it to see change. Some Isyans have taken young orphaned slimes as pets and it is very popular among the teen community to have a slime pet. Although, for many, it is not as appealing as the honeying pet. It is still progress for better relations with the slime kingdom.

Random: Suffocating Waves (poem)

Papayabomb: Omg, run horsey! Run like the wind!
Description: This is the Random part of my blog. This features creative posts, and well...random stuff.
-------

Hello guys!

I remember reading poems in high school and I just read a poem on the forums. I searched on the Internet on what exactly is the purpose of poems. I'll be honest, I use to think they were just useless and have no meaning. So being the curious person I am, I queried why people make poems. I read of all the answers on Yahoo! Answers (a place I visit a lot) and I really wanted to make a poem of my own. I've never got to posting a poem because every time I make one at night I fall asleep. I think at my best around night time, but I guess I can't make poems at night as I sleep without noticing. I'm not going to share this on the forums in my signature as I feel that, well, I'm a nub at this haha (maybe I will until I feel a little more confident about it). Anyway, hope you enjoy!

Suffocating Waves
A wave silently creeps over me,
Laughter and more laughter echoes around.
Distant on an island,
I stand.
I call out to those far in the distance,
Far away they may be,
No one notices.
Around I search on this island,
Spacious and sandy,
No one here.
Except me and the waves.
Useless waves and only me.
Another wave overcomes,
I sigh, sit, and stare with no expression and,
I squint at the soulless sun subsiding.
I dream to be with another to share the waves,
Laughter and more laughter,
No one here.
I survey the island once again,
Laughter and more laughter,
No one here.
I lay down empty.
Now thinking of days that shouldn't be,
Days that cannot be forgotten,
Days that always appear,
Days that I regret.
The waves start to recede,
I look in curiosity.
The waves rise,
Climbing higher and higher while gathering all the air,
Suffocating,
I cannot say a thing.
Down the waves crash on to me!
Water flows instantly over my body,
Mind,
Soul.
Laughter and more laughter, people are around.
That ends my attempt at making a poem. If you guys have suggestions for me to improve, let me know. Next poem will be related to Fiesta. I'll be posting my Saturday Update soon!

Small Update: Event, Video List, Plans, and a Change on My Saturday Update

Cherrybomb: Small Update. :3
Description: This is a Small Update. These updates tend to be small and their main purpose is to inform you guys of what's happening now and anything important going on at the moment. These updates are just like Saturday Updates, but with less pictures and content.
-------

Hello again!

At the moment, I'm looking for more people for my signature contest here: Anyone Interested in a Signature Contest?. Currently, I have two people and I need three more to start working on a thread that will be in Event Discussion. Also, if you make Fiesta Online related videos, I'm currently making a list of people who make Fiesta Online related videos here: Fiesta Online's Video Variety List.

Right now, I'm playing my cleric Peachbomb to prestige and I plan to level Guavabomb right after. I also plan on doing an aggro battle with FatalLace's fighter, FatalRemixed. I'll probably video it to show me winning. <3 Lolz just joking, but it's something I look forward to. I just need to find CC parties. I also did say I would post a video of my cleric Pearbomb doing the third part of the level 60 job quest. I'm also making a video of the DT party I had today on Peachbomb. The job change will most likely be posted first. As for the DT video, that one will be posted at another time. I'm also thinking of making a video related to Cherrybomb's Changes, but I'm not too sure at the moment as I'm very busy.

With Cherrybomb's new look that I mentioned on my recent post just a few hours ago, I forgot to mention one change that I will be making on my Saturday Update's picture. My Saturday Update's picture will change from this:
Cherrybomb: :[
to either this:
Cherrybomb: Something is following me...
or this:
Cherrybomb: Phew...just dodged that dangerous slime!
or how about this:
Cherrybomb: Shh. Be very, very quiet. Slimes are hunting Cherry!
or this could be it:
Cherrybomb: Omg, slimes came out of no where!
or maybe even this:
Cherrybomb: Run for your life! Slimes on the lose!
These pictures were taken randomly for my other post and I didn't really plan on the little story I made. I'm not to sure which picture I will use for my Saturday Update at the moment, and I will come to a conclusion tomorrow and you will see it on my Saturday Update. However, my small hoodie picture will remain on my Small Update as the picture suits my Small Update. I'm also thinking of changing my Saturday Updates to Sunday and it may be called Sunday Update or Weekend Update instead, but that would most likely change when I start college in a month or so.

As for blog changes, I changed all of my category (Happy Art, Item Discussion, Random, etc.) pictures a bit and included the category names for each picture. I changed the main background to white and changed the body text just in case my blog wasn't too clear to read. I also added tabs on the top (might be changed) and I made the top of my blog to be more smaller. I moved my profile to the lower right if you haven't noticed yet. The poll was moved up to the top, my playlist was moved down, and my followers were moved up. You may have already seen the changes in my posts as well right under the category pictures. I might also change the background of my blog with a picture, but that's if I ever figure out how to do it right. Most of the changes you see on this blog is final and I'm good to go! Other possible changes that I might make to includes the poll, the blog title, and maybe even the background, but everything seems to be good at the moment.

That's all I wanted to share, bye for now and I will be posting my Saturday Update tomorrow with a new picture! :]

Random: Earth, Water, Air, and Fire

Papayabomb: Omg, run horsey! Run like the wind!
Description: This is the Random part of my blog. This features creative posts, and well...random stuff.
-------

No, I'm not going to talk about Pokemon, but maybe another time! I was watching Avatar the Airbender the other day and I was inspired to do a blog post about the elements. Avatar is a kid show, but it's a very good kid show! It's very beautiful and the content is also great. It has a lot of meaning and if you watch the whole series, you can tell how much work was put into it. As for the movie, I haven't watched it, but I heard it sucked. Haven't you noticed that most movies based on cartoons/anime that are made in America suck compared to the cartoon/anime series? For example, Dragonball Z. The movie wasn't so great from what I can remember. A movie that is in production right now I believe is Bleach and I hear Zac Efron is going to be the main star. Sometimes, I think these type of movies are just mainly to make money and take advantage of our cartoon/anime interests. Hmm...

Anyways, sorry for the off-topic part, but I just wanted to share that. The focus of this blog post will be on Earth and Water. If I could describe my element best, it would be Earth. Earth can symbolize rough, rigid, rules. Earth involves the body and it involves animals, land, and anything that contains matter. Work is an earthly matter and we must keep on working to sustain our earthly needs. We need rules and regulations in the work place so that work moves on smoothly and without disruption. To gain something that is earthly, we need to work in an earthly manner. So, what is this earthly manner that I speak of? Some of you may not like it, but in order to gain something, you need to work for it and you need to be consistent. You need rules, regulations, or standards to work with. That is one reason why I believe we have rules in the work place and of course to avoid chaos. The emphasis that I'm trying to make is that we need rules to get work done. There are probably other ways to do work, but doing work in an earthly manner is the main way that most work gets done.

Here are examples below to show how people achieve things with earthly characteristics:

Athletes. They have to work hard and they need knowledge. They take advice from a health professional and they have to eat the right foods everyday. They work in an earthly manner by doing a routine each day. Sure, they can have a fiery passion to do some things, but fire is not consistent like earth. No one does
jobs more better than an earthly person. They do the job and they do it everyday. This is earth's main territory.

School. Which students are known for doing well in school? Asians. Before I give an explanation, I would like to note that not all Asians are smart and that thinking they are all smart, while it may seem like a good stereotype, is still a stereotype. I believe we should look at people individually instead of grouping people up together. Anyways, the reason why Asians are perceived to be smart and are good at school is because of the hard work that they do. They are very earthly in doing their education. Knowledge is something gained in an earthly way. You need to read books to gain knowledge. Also, what do Asian students have in common? A strict parent. These parents know how to work and they have earthly rules and standards placed on to their children. I believe to succeed in school, having a fiery passion is one thing, but having earthly standards will definitely make you succeed. Not that I'm saying that only Asians do this. Has anyone ever had a friend that had a strict parent? Did they do good in school? I'm assuming yes. So, to succeed in school, you need to do it an earthly strict way. There's just no other way in getting good grades, unless you cheat your way there.

People losing weight. In order to get the earthly result of losing weight, you need to do it in an earthly manner which are rules, standards, and setting expectations for yourself everyday. Rule #1: No eating late at night. Rule #2: Do not eat sweets such as cupcakes. Rule #3: Exercise 30 minutes a day. Maintaining health is also another earthly thing you should be doing for the rest of your life. With that being said, that relates to my next example.

Hygiene. We all practise hygiene, correct? I hope we ALL do. Anyways, we are consistent with brushing our teeth and by washing ourselves each day. It can be best described as earthly by the routines we do each day. It's an earthly matter we must do for the rest of our lives. Ever wonder why some people have beautiful skin? Clean faces? Muscles? It's because of earthly activities that they do each day. It is because of hard work. Unless, you have good genes... there's really no other way to accomplish these earthly results besides surgery and steroids, but these are big decisions and doing small activities would help you more in life than fixing your problems with money. Just do the work.

So, how exactly do we achieve our goals in a company, a school, a group, or something personal? It's by having standards, rules, regulations, and expectations. How do we achieve higher goals? It's by having higher standards. That concludes my explanation about earth. What about water? Water, to me, is the emotions. It is the soul. It is emotional and it is understanding.

Now, with high earthly standards, we can achieve a lot, but I also find a problem with being too earthly or too rigid. Earth needs water to loosen it up. While earthly activities are important to keep on surviving, we also have to remember why we are doing these earthly activities in the first place. Just working can really be a very boring thing. In life, there is much more to life than just work and possessions. Remember, why you are doing the work in the first place?

The world is beautiful and big and we shouldn't focus only on the rules. Rules are set in stone to guide us. Their purpose is to get work done, and we all do work to sustain our lives. We are working for our life. So, what about life do you feel emotional about? Is it your family? Your friends? Your pets? We all have a reason to work. Even though you lose weight, or get the good grades, or have beautiful earthly items, it's just items and there's more to life than work and material possessions. A person that is just earthly has no soul if I can explain it best, and is prone to being depressed, and that person may lose their motivation for working. Remember, balance is important. We need to take care of our body, our mind, and soul.

Another problem with being an earthly type of person is being too rigid and not understanding of others. With earthly type of people, they tend to think that there is only one way and there is no other way in doing something. I believe that there are many ways in achieving a goal and that many people can contribute. Earth people need a bit of water to be more understanding and to be less rigid in their beliefs.

People also tend to forget the real purpose of certain institutions because of rules and regulations. Water will help rigid people understand what each institutions were made for. For example, school is a place to learn and if that is ever forgotten, then the person will have failed the school's expectation. Another example is religion, I don't want to get into a religion debate or anything, but something about some religious people is that they are too focused on the rules and standards set in stone, and forget the real reason of what religion is all about. Rules and regulations are important for progress and life, but they are not everything there is to life. What life means to you is all up to you. Hopefully, you never lose the meaning of your work. In my opinion, there's more to the world than rules and regulations. There is love, life, community, and many more things. The thing about earthly type of people is that sometimes they don't see the whole picture and only focus on one aspect such as rules or just work.

Anyways, one earthly matter that I didn't attend to was my Saturday Update. I feel disappointed in myself. I made this rule that I would do a Saturday Update every Saturday. I missed posting my Saturday Update because I lost Internet connection for about three days. This is the first time I missed my Saturday Update, but no worries. It was just a guideline to help me blog and post. The rule served it's purpose, and I will still continue to post each Saturday. This is another thing about earthly matters. Random things will happen in your life and sometimes there's nothing you can do about it. My advice for these random events in life is don't dwell on the past, keep on moving, and what's more important is what you do.

Questions:
What are you? Are you an earth person? Or are you a water person? Or are you both? What % is earth and water? Or are you not an earth or water person at all?

Comments are welcomed. :] Thanks for reading and I'll post my update soon! Hopefully, nothing stops me this time. >.<

Random: With Money You Can Buy a House, but Not a Home...

Papayabomb: Omg, run horsey! Run like the wind!
Description: This is the Random part of my blog. This features creative posts, and well...random stuff.
-------

With money you can buy a house, but not a home.
With money you can buy a clock, but not time.
With money you can buy a bed, but not sleep.
With money you can buy a book, but not knowledge.
With money you can buy a doctor, but not good health.
With money you can buy a position, but not respect.
With money you can buy blood, but not life.
With money you can buy smexx, but not love.

This is a Chinese proverb I found on the Internet while reading another blog. I wanted to share it with you all as I really like this proverb and I decided to make one that is related to Fiesta. The proverb uses money to buy material items, but it also states what cannot be bought. To me, it means that money cannot buy everything. I don't value money so much, but more so on hard work. All I ever need money for is to buy food, water, and what is necessary for me to survive like sparkcash (just joking...hehe).

This proverb also makes me think of the material possessions that we own and how we put a lot of value into those possessions (whether it is a material or not). I believe these possessions cause a lot of problems to people and if you understand how people are in real life...you can realize that this happens in-game as well. I believe material possessions cause envy, greed, jealousy, gluttony, and pride which these cause wrath and sloth. Now, I assume a lot of people do not like these words, but this is what makes a human a human. As people, we are both "good" and "bad".

I understand now that everyone experiences all of these "evil" emotions which are a part of being a human. It is human nature. It is like being a "nub". It is because we are all imperfect. With these misunderstood feelings understood... I believe what's more important is the actions that you take and that will truly show who you are as a person. I hope I didn't confuse anyone...as I have a hard time explaining this...haha. Also, these are just my opinions so don't take these as facts.

Anyways, here's something I made which is similar to that proverb...

With money you can buy a mushroom, but not a home.
With money you can buy powerlevels, but not a friend.
With money you can buy skills, but not knowledge.
With money you can buy an experience boost, but not patience.
With money you can buy a beauty shop coupon, but not confidence.
With money you can buy roars, but not respect.
With money you can buy gifts, but not kindness.
With money you can buy a guild, but not a family.
With money you can buy a costume, but not inner beauty.
With money you can buy a spouse, but not love.

That's all I wanted to share...have a good day. :]
